A few words come to mind when I think of Caitlin and her new husband, Chris. Calm. Collected. Cool.
But most of all - I think classy. This couple holds themselves with such natural poise and grace. And Caitlin is so practical, besides. It's like she woke up - beautiful, naturally, and said. Oh, I think we'll get married today.
And married they were at the same church that Caitlin's grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother were married at - St. John Nupomuk in St. Louis, MO.
Even in this shot - where Caitlin and Chris don't suspect the intrusion of the camera- they exude an elegance that can't be bought. But fortunately enough for me, it can be captured.
I was honored to shoot this wedding as Caitlin is a high school friend of mine. Though our friendship began in Mrs. Sautman's French class, weaving through Europe and Texas on the way, we finally we found ourselves living in Brooklyn at the same time. It was in the shade of Prospect Park, laying in the grass that Caitlin told me about the love she was seeking. And love she did find.
Chris. Caitlin <3
